Our BFA class has been lucky to have Jeff Sangalli and Dela Longfish come and supervise our BFA project. Our assignment is centered around a kid who finds a creature living in a well. So far here's my character and the well. She's an Ethiopian girl who want more out of life than just working on her daily chores.

2 weeks 2 videos

It's been a little over two weeks into BFA and we've completed two project already. For this the challenge was to create something with the theme "The Chair" that can be presented in video lasting 3-30seconds. We only had one week to complete it!

The next one is my intro video for our BFA class.

Err. Should be working on other things, but my window was pretty. I put up new curtains! I've always had these thick red velvet curtains that blocked out the light. Which was great for sleeping. After living in the sublet room I had in SF for the summer where the light shone right through the window, I found out I wake up easier in a bright room.

Took a little more than an hour.

I feel there is still much to be done on this. So I've been a little reluctant to post. It's based on the book Green Mansions-about a man and a mysterious bird-like girl living in the Venezuelan jungle.

I saw an old lady who looked somewhat like this in a mall parking lot. She had a bird sweater with so much style.
Done all in Maya. Textures done in photoshop.

Abhaya

Here are some more finished work on Abhaya. I learned a few things from this project and from other talented peers, and that's I really need to bring my ideations to more of a finish. To clearly represent all the different ideas is just as important as the final image. Hm.. I've got a lot to work on.

WIP Abhaya

My WIP right now of my Vis Dev class. We were supposed to create a character that would fit in the universe of any animated film of our choosing. I chose Coraline! I tried to take it more of a "inspired by" approach. So she has her own back story.
There's still a lot more sketches/paints I want to do to show her character. And I'll tell you a little more about her once I finish :)

Just set up my online portfolio! Check it out.

Also my boyfriend Rudy Santos and I got into the Society of Illustrators Student Competition. Congrats to all students who got in as well! I've been spread quite thin lately jugging work, school, internship applications, and other projects, so it was a nice surprise.

The in show winners are here:
